How to submit your testimony

Become a MSHG Herald!

At My Story His Glory, we'd love to share testimonies about personal experience of God's redemption and restoration. If you’re looking for Christian writing opportunities, consider submitting a true, first-person account that follows our Remember, Record, Recite guidelines.

You can participate in our mission to encourage, equip, and embolden other believers by sharing YOUR story of redemption or restoration for God’s glory, while also providing the opportunity for us to engage and enlighten the world with the Gospel through YOUR testimony.

Top tips to get your story accepted and published.

We publish true, first person short stories about the Christian faith. Please follow these guidelines before writing and submitting your story.

    1. Read 3-4 published testimonies. This will help you get a sense of the type of story and format we are seeking. Writers who take this extra step are far more likely to have their story accepted. You can read stories here.
    2. Development your testimony using Remember, Record, Recite guidelines. In four lessons, and ~30 minutes, you will learn our framework of Chapters, Benefits, and Precepts, to write, and ultimately share your testimony. See the Lessons HERE.
    3. Your written story should be 1400-2,500 words. Given the average attention span, we recommend the testimony read times as 7 - 10 minutes. The word count is based on the average reading speed of 200-250 words per minute for non-fiction texts among adults.
    4. Willingness to edit. On occasion, we may suggest, or request revisions to fit the MSHG guidelines.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need writing experience?

No previous writing experience is needed! That’s actually why our founder, J Kelly Ladner wrote, Remember, Record, Recite.

These guidelines are here to empower you to share your story with confidence, clarity, and authenticity. They’ll help you focus on the key moments where God’s presence was evident and ensure your testimony is both meaningful and easy for others to hear and understand.

For accepted stories, we'll provide suggestions or revision request to help develop your story.

Can I submit a story that’s been published elsewhere?

We prefer to publish unique stories that have not yet been published elsewhere. This is for a few reasons:

  1. We want to bring our audience a unique story and reading experience that they haven’t read elsewhere.

  2. Other publishers may have the rights to your story. In the Materials Release Agreement, we specifically ask that you acknowledge that you have the right to enter into the agreement and do not need permission from a third party to do so.

  3. We believe we each have many stories to share about our relationship with God. Pray about other stories that explore how God deepened your faith our grew your relationship with him. Maybe this is an opportunity to share a smaller, “mustard seed” story, which our readers love!

What story should I write?

Generally speaking, there are three faith story genres that we publish. Pick one and let your Christian writing journey begin:

  • Salvation: The most foundational failure, is our separation from God before salvation. At the root of every human failure is our fallen nature—original sin—and our tendency to resist God’s Word. This is why our Salvation story, our first testimony, is so powerful: it demonstrates how, by faith and repentance, God rescued us from the consequences of our failures and introduced us to His grace and mercy.

  • Trials (Failures): Beyond salvation, failures include the results of poor decisions, moral missteps, or lack of understanding. King Saul’s disobedience (1 Sam 15:22-23), David’s sin with Bathsheba (2 Sam 11:2-4), and Peter’s denial of Christ (Matt 26:69-75) all show how human choices can lead to trials that require repentance, humility, and reliance on God.

  • Tribulations (Assualts): Assaults, by contrast, are tribulations imposed from outside our control—circumstances brought about by the enemy, injustice, or natural adversity. Job’s devastating losses (Job 1:13-19), Joseph’s betrayal by his brothers (Gen 37:28), Paul’s persecution (2 Cor 11:24-25), and the blind man in John 9:1-3 are all examples. These tribulations can be blessings in disguise when we maintain a biblical response. Scripture reminds us that God’s providence is not limited by our circumstances.

Can I write under my pen name or without my full name?

No. Because we publish true stories (testimonials), we want you to share your real name with our readers. This builds trust and helps our readers know that what you are sharing is true and really happened.

Testimonies are not published without identity verification.
